Samuel Salcedo. eco.

PERMANENT EXHIBITION
10 and 11 July · 17 and 18 July · 24, 25 and 26 July · from 31 July to 23 August.
From 7 pm to 1 am.
Jardins del Monestir de Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
Village Estrella Damm · Festival Porta Ferrada Occident.
Espai Carmen Thyssen presents ECO. Samuel Salcedo, a sculptural intervention in the Jardins del Monestir de Sant Feliu de Guíxols, in collaboration with Villazan Gallery and as part of the Village at Festival Porta Ferrada Occident.
Inspired by the myth of Echo, the exhibition proposes a journey through sculpture, landscape, memory and silence. Samuel Salcedo’s pieces emerge among the vegetation and heritage architecture of the gardens as latent presences that transform the perception of the space.
The project also incorporates resonances of the myths of Narcissus and Orpheus, inviting visitors to move through a physical and emotional landscape where gaze, voice, presence and absence become the main protagonists.
From 24 July, a monumental piece located in the Plaça del Monestir will complete the exhibition route.

THE ARTIST.
Samuel Salcedo is one of the most outstanding Catalan sculptors of his generation in the field of contemporary figuration. Trained in Fine Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona and Manchester Metropolitan University, he found in sculpture the ideal language to explore the human condition, identity and mechanisms of perception.
His work is characterised by the creation of faces, heads and figures with a strong psychological charge, situated between the recognisable and the unsettling. Through materials such as aluminium, iron, concrete, foundry sand and recycled materials, his pieces reflect on fragility, memory, transformation and the complexity of human experience.
Over more than two decades, his work has been presented in museums, art centres and galleries in Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Russia, Andorra, South Korea, the United States and Dubai, and forms part of leading public and private collections.
Pepa Poch. Marea de roses.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
10 and 11 July.
Casa dels Jardins del Monestir de Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
Village Estrella Damm · Festival Porta Ferrada Occident.
For two days only, Pepa Poch transforms the Casa dels Jardins del Monestir into an immersive universe of painting, colour, memory and poetic presence.
Marea de roses is not a conventional exhibition, but a total artistic intervention: canvases, objects, photographs, ceramics and elements intervened by the artist turn the space into a habitable experience.
The gardens seem to enter the house, and the sea, although unseen, is present in the light, textures and atmosphere. An ephemeral and sensory proposal that invites visitors to be enveloped by Pepa Poch’s chromatic and emotional imaginary.

THE ARTIST.
Pepa Poch is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores colour, matter and pictorial gesture through a sensory and emotional lens. Trained at the Massana Escola d’Art in Barcelona and awarded a grant by the Pierre Cardin Foundation in Paris, she has developed a career with international reach.
Between 1999 and 2015, she was a member of the International Colour Authority in London, and her work has been presented in museums, foundations and art fairs in cities such as Manila, London, Miami, New York, Chicago, Tenerife, Córdoba, Havana and Barcelona.
