CLARA PEYA IN CONCERT AT THE PORTA FERRADA OCCIDENT FESTIVAL 2026
Pianist and composer Clara Peya is one of the most unclassifiable figures on today’s scene. Her music—a mosaic of urban sensitivity and intimate power—defies any label through a visceral dialogue where contemporary rhythms, electronic textures and classical cadences intertwine with striking honesty. With her new work, NUCA, Peya does not simply dress the music: she builds it from within to shake the listener.
NUCA is a political and emotional commitment to reconnect. In a context marked by uncertainty and withdrawal, this album arises from the urgency to invent new ways of coming together as strangers and to once again train the muscles of empathy. Starting from the belief that solitude must be shared, the artist proposes turning our heads in unexpected directions to look towards the future—not from the threat of catastrophe, but from the desire to live together.
Through a minimalist journey, she leads with the sound of a muted upright piano and electronic atmospheres. The project brings together sixteen songs performed by sixteen voices such as El Niño de Elche, Rita Payés, Judit Neddermann, Xarim Aresté, Mar Pujol, Juan Quintero, Anna Andreu, and Clara herself.
